England’s James Beeton has won the High Performance Roofing Open after a commanding win over Dylan Slevin (yesterdays youth winner) by a score of 4-1.
James averaged 88 in the final and much was made of his unusual style with the back leg lifting off very much like Mensur Suljovic or Richie Burnett. But it didnt stop him hitting the double 9 and winning the title, seems to work for James.
England’s Fallon Sherrock put on a commanding display in the category A+ final of the Ladies Winmau Irish Open 6-1 against Kirsty Hutchinson.
Kirsty put out Aileen De Graf in the semi finals 5-2 but couldn’t live up to Fallon’s heavy and consistent scoring. As we said yesterday Fallon looked to be in great form and proved it today. After putting out Ana Dobromyslova 5-1 again she only dropped one leg in the final averaging 15 points more than Kirsty.
To win the match she set up a 132 finish and took it on the bullseye!
Fallon must be a real dark horse for the BDO Ladies World Championship at the Indigo O2 in January.
Commiserations Kirsty and very well done to Fallon Sherrock.
Ireland’s Keith Rooney and Garrett Gray won the Johnny McEvoy men’s pairs late last night at the Killarney Darts Festival with a score of 5-3.
Keith and Garrett playing well ran up to 4-1 and missed some match darts to allow Dean Forde to hit a 98 checkout in the next leg and then Nick Fulwell pulled them back to one behind with a double 4 to make it 4-3.
Dean and Nick had their chances to take it to a last leg decider but after Garrett missed a 112 checkout on double 16, Keith came back after hit the winning double 16 for the win for the Irish pair.
