PDC World Championship Day 3 Preview

A great day of darts today on a frosty Sunday.

Sunday December 15

Afternoon Session (12.30pm)

3 x First Round, 1 x Second Round

Kyle Anderson vs Xiaochen Zong

First up we have the Australian Kyle Anderson bidding to get through to the second round against the Chinese player Xiaochen Zong. Hard to look past Kyle here, but he has been very off weather this last 18 months. Hopefully Kyle shows his class here. Prediction 3-0.

Ross Smith vs Ciaran Teehan

I think Ciaran Teehan may shock a few with his arrows against Ross Smith. Ross has the confidence of beating MVG earlier during the year but Ciaran has been awesome locally here in Ireland and Northern Ireland the last year. I’m going for 3-2 win for Ciaran here – biased I know but I think he will do it.

Brendan Dolan vs Nitin Kumar

We have aleady previewed this game between NI’s Dolan and Nitin Kumar from India. 3-0 for Brendan Dolan.

Ian White vs Labanauskas

The highest ranked guy from Stoke these days is Ian Diamond White and he should on form and ranking with this game, but Lanbanauskas is no mug and I expect him to get a set at least. Ian White seems to come a cropper eventually in these majors, but generally he’s good till the quarters – no different here. Ian White to win 3-1.

Evening Session (7pm)

3 x First Round, 1 x Second Round

Arron Monk vs Jose Justicia

Kicking off the evening session is Jose Justicia and Aaron Monk. Jose famous for his falling out with Adrian Lewis which led to Jackpot’s 3 month suspension and fine. I think Jose comes through this one in a tight game 3-2.

Andy Boulton vs Danny Baggish

Andy Boulton from England has an opponent he has never played before in Danny Baggish from America. We have seen more of Baggish on our screens from the North American Championship and the World Series in Vegas – I expect Baggish to win this game 3-1 vs Boulton – who has not done much on the Pro Tour this year in 2019.

James Richardson vs Mikuru Suzuki

The penultimate game has Japan’s Mikuru Suzuki – the BDO Womens World Champion versus James Richardson. Will Ruthless be his typical self and play the board or will he be put off playing a lady? I dont expect him to be put off. What I do expect is James to win 3-0. Mikuru will have her moments and will win a few legs and have a few good high checkouts but that is all I can see her getting in this game.

Michael Smith vs Luke Woodhouse

Last up tonight is Michael Smith – last years finalist against Luke Woodhouse. Luke played well to beat Paul Lim 3-0 in the first round so I do expect Woodhouse to put up a good fight. Smith seems to get overawed with the majors at times – and start slow. But you cant keep a power scorer down and eventually he will fire up. Woodhouse to win first set and then Michael to win the next 3. 3-1 to Smith with most 180’s.
